Use Calendars To Brand Yourself Year Round

Calendars are often one of the most overlooked and underutilized printed items that a marketer can use to gain exposure all year long. From calendars that are made to fit in a pocket or purse to those that sit on a desk or hang on a wall, calendars are truly a remarkable product to provide your customers. Due to their functionality, calendars will not only provide your customer with something useful, but when done properly can help improve your brands retention and recall and encourage customer interaction.

Below are five calendar printing and design tips that will help maximize your calendars exposure and use throughout the year.

1. Make the images and content of the calendar visually appealing. The nature of a marketer is to promote our products and services, but the reality is that most people aren’t going to be interested in or want to hang on to a calendar that they don’t find visually appealing. Rather than putting images of your products or services, consider selecting a theme and find images on a stock photography site that are dynamic and will make your audience want to hang onto your calendar.

2. Provide a new special, promotion and/or incentive each month. Calendars typically provide enough room from page to page to include more than just a picture and date grid. Utilize the page to provide coupons or information about specials and promotions.

3. Consider your audiences needs when it comes the size of calendar you print. If you are in an industry where your primary demographic travels then pocket calendars are probably the best types of calendars. However, if your audience is mainly in an office environment, desk and wall calendars might be a better solution. Most online printing companies that specialize in custom calendar printing will have a large offering of different size and calendar styles. If you are unsure what type of calendar works best for your needs, ask your printing company for their recommendation.

4. Think beyond the next year. Another great way to extend the life of your calendar is to provide more than the standard 12-month calendar. Consider offering a 15-month calendar or providing the following years calendar in smaller monthly grids. In addition, another great asset to include in your calendar design is an important numbers and notes section.

5. Customize the calendar to speak directly to your brand. While you don’t want to make the calendar appealing for someone to use year-round, that doesn’t mean you can’t inform your audience about the products and services you provide. Think of a calendar as a giant brochure or a catalog or booklet.

By following these five tips you will be on your way to creating a dynamic piece that will gain your company and your brand year-round exposure.
